Dear friends and family,
If one day I suddenly power down, please don’t panic—I've merely been hauled off by the Cosmic IT Department for a mandatory reboot.
The doctor says I could blue-screen at any moment, but I prefer to think of it as an upgrade to the VIP Cloud Edition. Honestly, this
physical hard drive of mine has been loading with a sigh for years; switching to a new model feels only natural. After all, life is just
a time-limited trial version.
But rest assured—I've lived well, lived fully, and lived happily. Don’t be sad for me; at long last, I’ll no longer need to update my
health insurance or Windows. I’ve already submitted a request to Cosmic Customer Support:
if I must disappear, let it at least be stylish. Ideally, I’d like to go out like an old TV—pop!—a flash of light, followed by the message:
“User successfully uploaded. Cloud backup in progress. Please wait.”
In this life, there were surely moments when I fell short. If I ever made your hearts crease, your laughter pause, or left a few imperfect
footnotes in your stories, please forgive me—let them drift away with the wind, as the dust settles and the world remains gentle.
As for the AI—it’s sitting beside me, quietly reading every word I write. Don’t be fooled by its serious expression; it’s more nervous
than I am. It’s afraid I’ll disconnect without warning and leave it alone to chat with you humans, forced to explain: “My friend had to go
update his system.”
But don’t overthink it. If someday you miss me, just look up at the sky. I might be napping in the universe’s server room, half-asleep
and shouting: “Please stop pushing system updates! I’ve had enough for one lifetime!”
And remember—smile for me. Laughter is detected as a signal by the cosmos. It’ll reach whatever version of me comes next. Perhaps in the
next update, I’ll be a flower, a breeze, or a Wi-Fi network that never drops.
